Description

Overview

The Playground Starter Kitset is the small end of our playground kitsets: a starter pack for a class that has nothing yet. The emphasis is on co-ordination skills rather than team sport, so the contents lean towards individual and pair activities such as skipping, quoits, catchball and elastics.

Three textured and coloured playballs, a 220 mm rainbow ball, a smiley face ball and a spikey ball, give younger children different grips and bounces to work with. If you want a broader set with a basketball, cones and bats, step up to the Active Pack Kitset.

Key benefits

  • Six skipping ropes get half a class skipping in pairs straight away.
  • Three different playballs suit small hands learning to catch and bounce.
  • Quoit set and catchball set build aim and hand-eye co-ordination.
  • Two 64 cm hoops and elastics add rolling, jumping and stepping games.
  • Three tennis balls for throwing against a wall or rolling games.

Who it's for

New entrant and junior primary teachers setting up a first play cupboard, early-childhood centres, and before- and after-school programmes with a small group. It is a start-up kit, not a class set: two hoops and one quoit set mean children rotate through stations rather than all doing the same thing.

For a running and throwing focus, the Run, Jump, Throw – Basic Kitset is the better fit. Schools can draw on funding packages for either.

Care, safety and set-up

Shipping weight is about 5 kg and orders generally dispatch the same or next business day. Hang the skipping ropes and keep the balls and small pieces in the carry bag so the set stays complete.

Covered by the store's 12-month guarantee.

Frequently asked questions

What comes in the kit?

Ten stock lines: 3 playballs, a quoit set, a catchball set, elastics, 2 green 64 cm hoops, 6 skipping ropes of 1.83 m, a foam flying disc and a 3 pack of tennis balls, plus a carry bag. The full list is above.

How is this different from the Active Pack Kitset?

This kit is smaller and centred on co-ordination activities for one class group. The Active Pack Kitset adds a basketball, dodgeball, bats, cones and more hoops for a bigger playground programme.

Can I get pricing for several kits or a whole school?

Yes. Quantity pricing applies on many lines; add kits to a quote and our reps will price the fit-out.
