Description

Overview

The Run, Jump, Throw Basic Kitset is a one-order athletics starter pack built around Athletics New Zealand's Run Jump Throw programme, the foundation programme for teaching athletics-specific skills to kids aged 5–11. Rather than sourcing implements, markers and hurdles separately, you get the lot as a single bundle from our athletics kitsets range.

The throws gear is sized for young learners: PVC discus at 200 g, primary shot at 600 g and primary hammer at 350 g. Running and jumping are covered by step hurdles, skipping ropes, hoops and a two-station high jump built from poles, clips and rubber bases. Dodgeballs, tennis balls, spot markers and cones round out the games and station work.

Key benefits

  • Ten of each throwing implement, so a class group rotates through stations without waiting.
  • Two high jump stations from the included poles, clips and rubber bases.
  • Colour-coded spot markers and cones make station layouts quick to set up and explain.
  • Softer PVC discus, shot and dodgeballs suit school halls and fields with young learners.
  • Carry bag and tote bag keep balls and small items together between sessions.

Who it's for

Primary and intermediate schools and junior athletics clubs running Run Jump Throw sessions or an athletics unit for Years 1–6 will get the most from it. The implements are primary weights, so it is not the kit for senior school or club competition throwing.

If your school is fitting out a whole athletics programme, add this kitset to a quote and request a quote, and ask about the funding packages available to schools and clubs.

Care, safety and set-up

Store the bag and tote indoors and dry the PVC implements before packing them away. Keep hammers and shots off hard floors between throws, and supervise throwing stations with a clear landing area.

This kitset is assembled to order from stock lines and dispatch is generally the same or next business day. It is covered by our 12-month guarantee.

Frequently asked questions

Does it include everything for a high jump station?

Yes for the uprights: the kit has four 120 cm poles, two 160 cm poles, four pole clips and four rubber bases, enough for two stations. A landing mat is not part of the kit.

Are the throwing implements suitable for seniors?

No. The 200 g discus, 600 g shot and 350 g hammer are primary weights chosen for the ages 5–11 programme.

Can we buy it with school funding?

Many schools do. See our funding packages page, or request a quote and our team will put a fit-out together.
