Description
Overview
The Silver Fern High Density Foam Mat in 2.4 m × 1.5 m × 125 mm is a landing mat built for school PE and gymnastics programmes. It is used as a training aid across a wide range of work, from learning new tumbling skills through to dismounts from apparatus, wherever a soft, stable landing area is needed.
The mat is a layered construction: 100 mm of urethane cell foam laminated to 25 mm of bonded foam, all inside a PVC cover. Reinforced webbing handles on the sides let students, including the youngest, help move it into position. It is one of the larger options in our crash mats & pads category and is made to order.
Key benefits
- Cushions landings with a 100 mm urethane cell foam core over 25 mm bonded foam.
- PVC cover wipes down between classes.
- Reinforced webbing handles on the sides make moving the mat manageable for young athletes.
- At 2.4 m × 1.5 m it gives a generous landing zone for tumbling and dismounts.
- Made to order, so it is built for your order rather than pulled from a shelf.
Who it's for
Choose this mat for a school gym, gymnastics club or PE store where tumbling and apparatus work happen regularly. The 1.5 m width gives more margin on landings than the narrower sibling; if space or budget is tighter, the High Density Foam Mats – 2.4m x 1.2m x 12.5cm version keeps the same length and thickness.
It is a landing mat, not a thin exercise mat, so it is not the right pick for floor stretching or yoga classes. Use it under supervision as part of a structured programme.
Care, safety and set-up
Because this is a made to order item, it is manufactured after you order and freight is quoted separately rather than charged at checkout; request a quote and the customer-service team will price the mat and its freight together. Wipe the PVC cover clean after use and store the mat flat and dry. Like our other products, it is covered by the 12-month guarantee.
Frequently asked questions
Is this mat made to order?
Yes. It is manufactured once your order is placed, and because of its size it is freight quoted rather than sent at a standard rate.
What is the difference between this and the 1.2 m version?
Only the width. Both are 2.4 m long and 125 mm thick; this one is 1.5 m wide, the sibling 1.2 m.
Does the mat have handles?
Yes, reinforced webbing handles on the sides, which is how it is meant to be moved between the store and the floor.
Can schools get help paying for it?
Schools and clubs can look at our funding packages, and our reps can build a quote for a larger gymnastics fit-out.
