Description

Overview

The Wireless Lapel Microphone is the SM5016 beltpack transmitter, used with the Challenger Portable PA and the Focus 505 Portable sound system. You clip the transmitter to a belt or waistband and wear the lapel mic, leaving both hands free to demonstrate a skill, hold a clipboard or start a race.

It transmits on the UHF band on legal NZ frequencies, which the supplier says gives longer range and better audio quality. With 16 channels available you can change channel if another device is causing interference. See the wider sound & pa range for compatible speakers and stands.

Key benefits

  • Teach or coach hands-free with a beltpack transmitter and lapel mic.
  • Reach the back of the hall or field with UHF band transmission.
  • Switch to a clear channel in seconds if interference appears, with 16 channels.
  • Operates on legal NZ frequencies as supplied.

Who it's for

Best for PE teachers, swim coaches and event announcers who already run a Challenger or Focus 505 PA and want to talk while moving. It is a transmitter for those systems, not a standalone microphone, so confirm your PA model before ordering.

If you would rather pass a microphone between speakers at a prize-giving, a handheld wireless mic is the better choice.

Care, safety and set-up

Store the beltpack and lapel mic in the accessory pocket of your PA carry bag between sessions so cables and clips do not go missing. This is a local stock line and generally dispatches the same or next business day.
