Overview
The Silver Fern Stepping Block – 450mm is the Medium height in a series of three foam blocks that share a 900 mm × 600 mm footprint. At 450 mm high it asks more of a child than the low block without the reach of the tallest, which makes it the block most PE teachers use as the middle rung of a progression.
It is foam filled with a PVC fabric cover in vibrant colours. On its own it is a solid mid-height hurdle or platform; alongside the Stepping Block – 300mm and Stepping Block – 600mm it completes a three-step staircase for climbing and dismount practice.

Store indoors in a dry space and clean the PVC cover with a damp cloth. Check the cover for wear at the start of each term and supervise any activity where students jump from the block.

Which block should I buy if I can only afford one?
For a mixed-age primary group this 450 mm block is the most flexible: low enough for younger students with help, and high enough to challenge older ones. Younger-only groups should start with the 300 mm block.
