A competition-specification shot: the diameter and the weight both sit inside the tolerances the event requires, which a cheap training shot does not guarantee. That matters the moment an athlete throws at a meet, because a shot that measures wrong is not eligible.
Pick a weight above. 3kg and 3.25kg are junior and womens grades, 4kg womens senior, 5kg and 6kg the mens grades below senior.
