Description
Overview
Molten's BG4000 is a competition grade indoor basketball, the newer model in Molten's GFX series, built as a match ball for clubs and schools. The 12 panel composite leather cover gives it the tacky feel players expect from a game ball, and Molten lists the 12 panel design as FIBA approved.
Size 7 is the full-size ball for players 15 years and over. It sits above the rubber training balls in the Molten range, so use it for fixtures and keep rubber balls for outdoor practice.
Key benefits
- Consistent grip in match play from the tacky composite leather cover.
- 12 panel design that Molten lists as FIBA approved.
- Competition grade build for graded club and school fixtures.
- Butyl bladder fitted.
- Newest model in the GFX series.
Who it's for
This is the ball for senior club teams and secondary schools that host indoor competition and want one match ball per court. It is not the ball for outdoor PE; asphalt is hard on a composite leather cover. Players under 15 years usually need size 6 or smaller.
Sizing guide
Size 7 suits players 15 years and over in the basketball size guide. For 10 to 14 years use size 6, for 7 to 9 years size 5, and under 7 years size 3.
Care, safety and set-up
Keep it for indoor courts and store it inflated in a dry bag between fixtures. Check pressure before each game and wipe dust off the cover so the tacky feel lasts.
