It is a general-purpose mat, not a thick crash mat: the 38 mm medium density bonded foam core suits floor exercises and warm-ups rather than landing areas under apparatus.
The heavy duty PVC cover is zipped and fully removable, so it can be taken off for cleaning or replaced. Hook and loop joiners on the short sides connect it end to end with other mats in the Silver Fern range.
