Description
Overview
The Avaro Slalom Pole Set of 12 is a dozen spiked agility poles for marking out weaving runs, change-of-direction courses and dribbling lanes. Each pole is 25 mm PVC and stands 1.7 m tall, so players see the line of poles from across the field and cannot simply step over them.
The flexible spring between pole and spike is the feature that matters most. Clip a pole at speed and it gives, then springs back, which protects both the pole and the player. It sits in our speed & agility range alongside ladders, chutes and sledges.
Key benefits
- Poles bend and recover when clipped, thanks to the flexible spring at the base.
- Stand out on a busy field at 1.7 m tall.
- Set up fast by pushing the 8 mm spike into grass.
- Twelve poles is enough for a full slalom course or two shorter lanes.
- Carry and store the whole set in the heavy duty bag supplied.
Who it's for
For football, rugby, hockey and netball coaches running agility and ball-carrying drills on grass, and for secondary PE departments building a fitness unit. The spike needs a surface it can go into, so this set is for grass and turf rather than indoor gym floors or asphalt courts.
If you want a broader mix of gear, the Speed Agility Kit bundles several tools together, and the Agility Ladder 9m pairs well with the poles for footwork stations.
Care, safety and set-up
Pull poles out by the pole rather than levering them sideways, which strains the spring. Pack them back into the carry bag after each session so a full set of 12 makes it back to the shed.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use these indoors on a gym floor?
No. The poles rely on an 8 mm spike pushed into the ground, so they need grass or turf. They are not suited to hard indoor floors or asphalt.
What happens when a player runs into a pole?
The flexible spring at the base lets the 25 mm PVC pole bend over and spring back rather than snapping or tripping the player.
Do I need to buy a bag separately?
No. The set of 12 comes packaged in a heavy duty carry bag.
