Description
Overview
The Indoor VB System Heavy duty with wheel away Winch and Stays is GL's heavy-duty indoor volleyball post system, built around wheel-away bases that bolt to floor plates set in the gym floor. Unbolt the bases and the whole system wheels off court, leaving a clear floor for basketball, netball or PE.
A winch tensions the net and stays brace the posts, so the net stays taut through a full session of serving and spiking. It is one of two heavy-duty systems in the volleyball poles range; the Indoor VB System Heavy duty with wheel away cable system is the alternative, using a cable arrangement in place of the winch and stays.
Key benefits
- Clears the court quickly: the bases unbolt from the floor plates and wheel away.
- Holds net tension through play thanks to the winch and bracing stays.
- Built as a heavy-duty system for indoor courts hosting regular volleyball.
- Made to order, so it is manufactured for your order rather than pulled from a shelf.
- Completes a court when paired with floor plates and an umpire stand, sold separately.
Who it's for
This system suits secondary schools, clubs and multi-use gyms that run volleyball on a floor shared with other codes and need the posts out of the way between sessions. If your hall is dedicated to volleyball and the posts never move, talk to the team about whether the wheel-away bases are worth it for you.
Net height is measured at the centre of the net. The site's volleyball net height guide lists 2.43 m for men, 2.24 m for women and junior boys, and 2.14 m for junior girls. Confirm with the team that the system covers the heights your competitions play at before ordering.
Care, safety and set-up
Floor plates go in first; the bases bolt to them, so plan plate positions against your court markings before the plates are fitted. Wheel the system rather than dragging it, and check the base bolts are tight before each session.
This is a made-to-order item and a large freight item. It is manufactured after you order and freight is quoted for your delivery address, so allow for that in your planning.
Frequently asked questions
Are the floor plates included?
No. Floor plates are sold separately, as is the umpire stand. Order them together with the system so everything arrives ready to install.
How is this different from the cable system?
This version uses a winch to tension the net and stays to brace the posts. The other heavy-duty system in the range uses a wheel-away cable system instead. Both use wheel-away bases.
How does it ship?
As a made-to-order freight item. It is built after you order and the freight is quoted for your address rather than charged at a flat rate.
Can we get a quote for a full gym fit-out?
Yes. Add the system, floor plates and umpire stand to a quote and request a quote; the team will price the package. Schools and clubs can also ask about funding packages.
