Description
Overview
The GL Indoor BB Crosscourt System is a wall-mounted basketball goal designed to make better use of gym space, either in a smaller hall or set across a No. 1 court so several games can run side by side. It carries a sprung hoop on a reinforced frame, and a height-adjusting mechanism lets you drop the backboard from regulation height to Kiwi height for younger players.
Gym Leader lists this as a primary cross-court system and builds it to order; most installations need some custom manufacture to suit the wall and the court layout. Freight is quoted separately, so the practical first step is to request a quote with your gym dimensions. It sits within our wider range of basketball systems.
Key benefits
- Run more games at once by mounting hoops across the court rather than at the ends.
- One unit serves younger and older players with the drop from regulation to Kiwi height.
- Sprung hoop and reinforced frame stand up to busy PE timetables.
- Wall mounting keeps the floor clear when the system is not in use.
Who it's for
This system is for primary and intermediate schools, and secondary schools with a smaller gym, that want to teach basketball to full classes without queueing at two end hoops. The Kiwi-height setting is aimed at younger players, while the regulation setting keeps the same unit useful for older students and lunchtime games.
It is an indoor, wall-mounted unit. For an outdoor court, look at the GL Outdoor Senior Basketball Tower – 2.4m or the other outdoor systems instead.
Sizing guide
Our basketball hoop height guide pairs 2.4 m with the 1–4 years band and 3.05 m regulation height with the 5+ years band. Use it to decide which setting your classes will use most, and tell the team so the mechanism can be built to suit.
Care, safety and set-up
Because the unit is wall mounted and often custom manufactured, installation needs to be planned against your wall structure and court markings; our team can talk through what is required before quoting. Check the height mechanism, hoop springs and fixings regularly in a busy gym. This is a made-to-order item and large items are delivered on a freight quote.
Frequently asked questions
Can it be set to different heights?
Yes. The height-adjusting mechanism lowers the backboard from regulation height to Kiwi height, covering both the 3.05 m and 2.4 m settings in the hoop height guide.
Is this an outdoor system?
No. It is an indoor wall-mounted system. For outdoor courts see the towers in our outdoor systems category.
Why do I need a quote?
The system is made to order, is often custom manufactured for the gym, and ships as freight. Request a quote with your court and wall details and the team will price it, including freight.
