The Avaro Hockey Stick – 30" (Green) is the mid-junior length in the Avaro range, made from fully painted ash wood with glass fibre reinforcing. That reinforcing is the point for schools: sticks that get dropped, stepped on and swung by beginners need extra strength to see out the season.
It is a medium-weight training stick for learners and junior or youth-club players, not a stick for senior competition. Sizes either side are the Avaro Hockey Stick – 28" (Yellow) and Avaro Hockey Stick – 32" (Blue).

The Avaro guide recommends measuring from the ground to the belly button. Sticks of 26 to 28 inches suit roughly 5 to 6 years, 30 to 32 inches 7 to 9 years, 34 to 36 inches 10 to 12 years, and 36 to 37.5 inches 13 years and over. This green stick is the 30 inch.
