Overview
The GL Outdoor Senior Basketball Tower 2.4m is the long-overhang version of Gym Leader's heavy duty single-hoop tower. Its 100 × 100 mm SHS steel post supports a full steel backboard frame that extends 2.4 m from the post, keeping the post well back from the baseline.
The design has years of service with councils, schools and even prisons around New Zealand and is backed by an Engineering Design Certificate. Top stays brace the frame and all steelwork is hot dipped galvanised. It sits in our outdoor systems range alongside the shorter-overhang versions.

Secondary schools, councils and clubs installing a permanent outdoor hoop for senior players. The site's size guide gives 3.05 m as regulation ring height for 5+yrs; confirm the installed ring height with our team when quoting. Younger players are better served by the GL Outdoor Primary Basketball Tower or the GL Outdoor Intermediate Basketball Tower.
Choose the 2.4 m overhang where you want the post furthest from play, such as behind a path or fence line. Where space behind the baseline is limited, the GL Outdoor Senior Basketball Tower – 1.2m or the GL Outdoor Senior Basketball Tower – 1.5m need less depth behind the board.
Care, safety and set-up
Concrete the post permanently into the ground, or fit the optional ground sleeve so the tower can be lifted out. Some assembly is required and the supplier asks buyers to enquire for details, so talk to our team before ordering.
As a made-to-order item, the tower is manufactured after your order and shipped on a freight quote. Schools and clubs can request a quote and ask about funding packages for a full court fit-out.
