The Senior Scrum Machine is the larger of two Silver Fern scrum units and the one to buy for adult forwards. The sled sits on the ground and the pack drives it, so every rep works the whole eight on bind, body height and timing.
The traditional sled design leaves a large open area for stacking weight resistance. That means one machine can serve a lighter colts pack early in the week and a premier pack later on. The same open layout gives the coach a clear line of sight to technique while the pack is under load.

Who it's for
This is the unit for senior club sides, premier grades and secondary school first XVs with adult-sized forwards. Coaches running academy or colts programmes also get the benefit of adjustable resistance from the same sled.
If your forwards are primary or intermediate age, or you want one machine for a junior club, the Silver Fern Scrum Machine – Junior is the lighter option and better matched to smaller packs.

Keep the sled under cover when not in use and inspect the pads and fixings regularly. Run scrummaging sessions under coach supervision and load weight evenly on the sled.

Is the Senior machine too big for a school?
Not if your forwards are senior secondary students of adult size. For younger year groups, the Silver Fern Scrum Machine – Junior is the better match.
Does the price include delivery?
No. The machine is freighted and we quote delivery separately because destination and access vary. Ask us for a quote and we will confirm the freight to your ground.
