Description
Overview
When space is tight or a standard court layout cannot work, a multi-way tower lets several groups shoot at once from one footing. The GL 3 Way Outdoor Tower carries an Engineering Design Certificate and is built around a 150 mm diameter steel post with three backboard support arms arranged on a 'top-hat' central section. The main post goes in first; the top-hat assembly is then lifted over the post and bolted through it.
All steel work is hot dip galvanised for corrosion protection outdoors. The backboards are marine bonded plywood, fully painted with regulation line markings and made to international sizing. It sits in the outdoor systems range alongside the single-board GL towers.
Key benefits
- Three shooting stations from one footing, so a small asphalt area serves more players.
- Long service outdoors thanks to hot dip galvanised steel throughout.
- Boards clear the post by 1.2 m, giving players room under each hoop.
- Marine bonded plywood boards painted with regulation line markings to international sizing.
- Simpler installation: post in first, then the top-hat section drops on and bolts through.
- Removable if you choose the optional ground sleeve rather than concreting in.
Who it's for
Suited to primary, intermediate and secondary schools and clubs that need more hoops than a conventional court layout allows. The tower is listed for both junior and senior play, so state which age groups will use it when you order.
If you only need one board, the GL Outdoor Senior Basketball Tower – 1.2m offers the same overhang on a single-board post. Browse the wider GL range for other outdoor basketball systems.
Sizing guide
The hoop height guide on this site gives 2.4 m for ages 1–4 and 3.05 m (regulation) for ages 5 and over. Confirm the mounting height you need before the tower is manufactured.
Care, safety and set-up
This tower is made to order, so it is manufactured after your order is placed and delivered on a freight quote rather than standard shipping. The post can be concreted permanently into the ground or fitted with the optional ground sleeve so the tower can be lifted out; either way a solid, secure footing is required.
Check the through-bolts, hoop fixings and nets as part of routine court checks.
